Vaginal (Feminine) rejuvenation is a broad term for vaginal corrective procedures/treatments. These procedures can be done for cosmetic reasons or to solve age-related problems, such as lack of vaginal tightness and urinary incontinence. These procedures are meant to correct problems that can occur after giving birth or during the aging process. There are thousands of products and procedures marketing to women to help them hold on to youth as long as they can. Vaginal rejuvenation falls into that category with promises of tightening the vagina, stopping incontinence, eliminating vaginal dryness and more.

Vaginal rejuvenation” is a much-contested expression referring to the treatment of various physiological changes affecting a woman’s vaginal canal, vaginal wall, or pelvic floor often following a vaginal birth or menopause. As women go through childbearing, hormonal changes and aging, they can experience changes in their genitalia. Changes that can impact a woman’s quality of life include vaginal laxity, stress urinary incontinence, loss of vaginal lubrication, a decrease in erotic sensation and loss of tone of the labia majora. We at DERMESTHETIC at Sialkot & Lahore, Pakistan have experienced dermatologists and cosmetologists having expertise and knowledge of vaginal rejuvenation and tightening treatments and procedures either surgical or non-surgical.

CONSULTATON

Aging, childbearing, and hormonal changes can affect female genital tissues in a way that interferes with a woman’s quality of life. A highly skilled dermatologist/cosmetic surgeon can help, with feminine rejuvenation procedures to restore tone and tightness to vulvovaginal tissues. Many women who have gone through a vaginal birth, or through menopause, may experience laxity of the vaginal canal, damage to their pelvic floor, vaginal dryness, or impaired firmness of the vaginal wall. These physiological changes can lead to other conditions, such as urinary incontinence, and they can affect a person’s sex life, as well as their general sense of well-being.

During your vaginal rejuvenation consultation be prepared to discuss:

  • Your purposes of treatment/surgery
  • Medical conditions, drug allergies and medical treatments
  • Current medications, vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco and drug use
  • Previous treatments/surgeries

One practice that promises to address these issues, and which has been gaining popularity over the past few years, is that of so-called vaginal rejuvenation, in which energy-based devices, employing laser (CO2 Laser) or radiofrequency are used to stimulate vaginal tissue and allegedly help it to regain firmness, elasticity, and lubrication. A dermatologist/cosmetologist at DERMESTHETIC at Sialkot, Lahore & Pakistan can help determine the most appropriate type of treatment for you.

TREATMENTS

The term vaginal rejuvenation covers several different procedures. It can be classified mainly in two categories (i) Non-Surgical (ii) Surgical. We at DERMESTHETIC at Sialkot & Lahore, Pakistan have experienced dermatologists and cosmetologists performing these procedures and properly advise the patient regarding the treatment.

NON-SURGICAL TREATMENTS

There are two types of non-surgical also known as energy-based treatments for vaginal rejuvenation and tightening:

RADIOFREQUENCY (RF) TREATMENTS: Electromagnetic waves are used in RF devices. Similar to the waves used in a microwave but to a lesser extent, the energy is focused to heat the tissue.

CO2 LASER TREATMENT: The laser heats up the upper layers of the tissue, causing the tissue in the lower layers to make more collagen. This makes the skin firmer and tighter. As laser skin tightening procedure involves no surgery at all, this makes laser vaginal tightening procedure, a minimally-invasive ‘state-of-the-art’, outpatient solution that incorporates CO2 laser (also known as Monalisa Touch) technology to provide optimal results for various feminine concerns. In addition to firming up your vagina, these lasers can also fight vaginal dryness and incontinence. It involves inserting a fractional CO2 laser about four to six centimeters into the vagina. Once it’s turned on, the laser beam penetrates about 0.5 millimeters into the vaginal wall, deep enough to reach the level of the skin where collagen is formed. It may even help fight a low libido, although that claim by many laser manufacturers isn’t verified by the FDA.

The process isn’t painful and patients only feel a little pressure and the procedure is over in less than 10 minutes. It’s typically recommended that women get CO2 laser three times, with each session spaced 3-6 weeks apart and have a “touch-up” session after every 12 months. Laser vaginal tightening isn’t cheap (one treatment costs a little more than $800-$1,000 in the US), but it is less invasive than a vaginoplasty. It is done at a much lesser cost in Pakistan, by some of the best and most qualified female laser specialist doctors in Pakistan performing laser vaginal tightening at our medical facility DERMESTHETIC in Sialkot & Lahore, Pakistan. At DERMESTHETIC, we have the most experienced skin hair and laser specialists in Pakistan with an immaculate experience and academic record. PRP OR ‘O’ SHOT

Orgasm Shot also known as OShot or G-Shot, treatment involves injecting the clitoris, labia, and G-spot with platelets rich plasma, a substance in your blood that contains healing proteins called growth factors extracted from your own blood. An O-Shot promises to be a non-surgical way to increase sexual arousal and rejuvenate the vagina. You may experience an increase in sexual desire and pleasure immediately, but full results are usually enjoyed after 3 months. Generally, women will begin to experience heightened sensation in the first 3-7 days and new tissue will begin to develop over the next 3-9 weeks. This will peak around the 3-month mark. Getting the OShot is usually painless. We numb the area with a gentle, cream-based product. Although every patient’s experience is different, most experience only minor discomfort. The injection feels like a slight pinch or warm sensation. With O-Shot, the females get stronger and more frequent orgasms, increased lubrication, increased sexual desire, improved stimulation and a lot more.

There are many benefits of O-shot therapy, patients have reported some or all of the following:

  • Increased libido and sexual desire
  • Increased clitoral and vaginal sensitivity
  • Stronger, more intense, and more frequent orgasms
  • Decreased urinary incontinence
  • Increased vaginal lubrication
  • Decreased painful intercourse (dyspareunia)
  • Increased ability to experience vaginal orgasm (g-spot orgasm)
  • Improved skin on the vulva
  • Treatment option for lichen sclerosis
  • Treatment option for lichen planus
  • Tighter vaginal opening.

BENEFITS OF NON-SURGICAL FEMININE REJUVENATION

  • Treatments typically take less than 15 minutes to perform;
  • Many patients notice significant improvements within 1 to 2 days after treatment, which continue to improve with time;
  • No downtime is needed; even sexual intercourse can be resumed the same day;
  • Results can last up to 1 year before another round of treatments are needed

SURGICAL TREATMENTS

It is sometimes called female genital plastic surgery, female genital rejuvenation surgery, female genital cosmetic surgery, vulvovaginal plastic surgery and designer vagina surgery, among other terms. Depending on the anatomical area of female organ, the procedures that comprise female genital plastic surgery are:

Labiaplasity: The term labiaplasty refers to a procedure that reduces the length of the labia minora. It is the most commonly performed vaginal rejuvenation procedure and it can relieve symptoms women experience from twisting and tugging of the labia.

Clitoral Hood Reduction: Excess folds of the clitoral hood, or prepuce, can be reduced with a clitoral hood reduction. By this procedure removes excess tissue over the clitoris to improve sexual experiences and/or alleviate discomfort caused by an enlarged clitoral hood. The procedure is most commonly done along with a labiaplasity.

Labia Majoraplasty: A labia majoraplasty is a procedure designed to surgically reduce the size of the outer, hair-bearing labia majora.

Monsplasty: A monsplasty is a procedure designed to reduce bulging of the mons, removes excess fat and skin from the mons pubis to restore a more streamlined appearance to the pelvic area.

Vaginoplasty: Vaginoplasty (also known as posterior colporrhaphy) is a procedure designed to tighten the vagina. It surgically tightens loose or stretched vaginal muscles. Results can last for many years; best suited for women who do not plan to have more children. An alternative is noninvasive vaginal tightening through heating tissues with radiofrequency waves or laser. Patients with significant laxity may not experience a benefit from these treatments and may be better candidates for surgical tightening with vaginoplasty.

ADVANTAGES

Feminine rejuvenation can address these issues by restoring a more normal tone and appearance to the vagina and labia. The appropriate procedure, performed by an experienced dermatologist/cosmetic surgeon, can achieve one or more of the following:

  • Help tight clothing and swimsuits fit more comfortably;
  • Reduce or eliminate stress urinary incontinence;
  • Alleviate vaginal dryness;
  • Reduce pain during intercourse;
  • Improved sexual stamina;
  • Improve sensation during sex for a patient and her partner;
  • Provide cosmetic improvements to the genitals.

SIDE EFFECTS

The FDA is no strangers to energy-based devices for gynecological use. In fact, they have previously greenlit such devices, but only for very specific clinical use, and not as a cosmetic procedure or for “vaginal rejuvenation” treatments. But using such devices to treat “symptoms related to menopause, urinary incontinence, or sexual function” can cause “serious adverse events,” emphasize the FDA. Of these adverse events are vaginal burns, scarring, pain during sex, and recurring pain. One should discuss these potential risks with Dermatologist/Cosmetologist, as well as the steps your doctor will take to minimize these risks. We at DERMESTHETIC, have the dermatologists ensure such expertise and knowledge.
